You Are What You Think, So Think the Life You LoveHave you ever wondered how to make things happen more quickly in your life? If so, try an exercise called Make Your Vision Vivid. Its purpose is to place you smack into a fabulous 3-D experience by imagining yourself in it. By injecting it with emotion, you make it come to pass more quickly. To bring it alive, use present tense and incorporate all five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. In the very first Get the Life You Love class I taught, Julia, a very sharp woman in her mid-30s, was stumped by the exercise, which was completely out of character for her. I'd known her as a successful salesperson for years, and she always knew how to make things happen, especially in her professional life. Inception of the PalazzoAs we began the Make Your Vision Vivid exercise she blurted out, "I can honestly say that the only thing that even comes to mind is a swimming pool in my back yard! I have no idea how I'll pay for it. I'm quitting my sales job and going back to grad school. In fact, it seems insane even to think about it." "It doesn't matter how insane it seems--describe it," I encouraged her. "Describe how you feel while you're enjoying it!" So she proceeded, writing it down in present tense, which is very important. We must put ourselves in the moment, since that's all that exists. "I see myself reclining on a chaise lounge next to my perfect pool in Brookhaven. I hear mellow music as I sip a cold drink and chat with friends. I feel the sun's rays streaming down on my skin. The aromas of suntan lotion and honeysuckle are in the air." Divine ScenarioAs she described the divine scenario aloud, we all observed her face light up and her eyes soften. She really put herself into the picture, and the five senses clinched it for her emotionally. I asked her what this scene meant to her, why she wanted it. "Freedom, complete freedom! Work is inside, and I'll get to it later!" Next I asked her to experience the degree of gratitude she would feel when this vision became a reality. "But it hasn't happened yet. Why should I feel grateful for something that doesn't exist?" she asked. The Gratitude ConnectionFeeling gratitude before the fact sends positive energy into the universe. Movies such as "What the Bleep!" and "The Secret" describe what physicists and spiritual leaders have been teaching for quite awhile--that witnesses to any experiment actually alter the nature of its outcome. In other words, by "witnessing" a positive outcome in advance we strengthen its possibility. This phenomenon has its foundation in the Law of Attraction. Expressing gratitude over the vision you want to manifest helps speed up the outcome. Remember always to add the thought, "This or something better." Greater things than we imagine may be in store. Believe It and You'll See It!These fundamental truths have brought health, happiness and prosperity to tens of millions of people, but regrettably most of the people on earth don't know about these universal laws. Even if they know them, they often choose to ignore them. (As Wayne Dyer said, "Believe it and you'll see it!) Julia chose to hold on to the vision of her swimming pool and create a new life for herself. Four years later, well on the way to her Ph.D., she celebrated her 40 th birthday in her freshly renovated Brookhaven "palazzo" with a swimming pool. The Law of Right ActionHow did she manage to afford it? She didn't just wait for a pool to appear in her yard. She put herself into action! The Law of Attraction combined with the Law of Right Action accomplishes marvelous things. During her graduate studies, she began writing textbooks on English for Speakers of Other Languages. Wisely she chose not to take an hourly rate for her work. Instead, she took a very small percentage of sales, which renders a substantial annual commission. Four years after she made her vision vivid we sat by her pool sipping a glass of chilled wine, and she laughed about the fact that it had all started with that seemingly goofy vision exercise. "Do you remember I told you I wanted to quit working but still have tons of money rolling in so I could pursue what I really wanted--and I had no clue about how any of that was going to happen but you told me to write it down anyway? All I wanted, really, was a swimming pool. That's all I knew," she reminded me. "All because I wanted a swimming pool, Patrice, and didn't have a clue how I was going to get this lifestyle that I'd envisioned for myself. And you encouraged me to go for it with all the Treasure Maps, the Personal Crest, and visualization, and here I am!" We toasted her fabulous success, and chills ran through my body. These exercises really work! The above article is a sample of the kinds of information and stories you'll read in the book and hear on the soon-to-be-released Audio Book version --Selected Chapters from award-winning BACK TO THE GARDEN: Getting from Shadow to Joy.

evocative exploration of her own journeys into the intuitive and
the universal mind. Back to the Garden beautifully reinforces the
power of personal choice and the numerous tools available to
manifest and create the lives we love.
You have created a brave and beautiful thing here. I truly admire
your courageous commitment to wellbeing, sanity and compassion. I
wish you and your lovely book much success.
Gee, where to begin--bold, brave, scholarly; also sincere-- tried &
true honest, fun, poignant. And it is practical wisdom in small
healthy doses; to-the-bone "truth," not "truthiness." Love the
design, too. The Haunted Bed--YIKES!!
Your book inspired me to take some bold steps myself, to move
beyond my comfort level and leave the Midwest for New York. It has
helped me rise above the shackles of complacency and lack of
direction.
Back to the Garden is a courageous story of grace and wisdom
emerging from chaos and trauma--reminding us to let go of outcomes
and step out on faith.
I absolutely love this book. It hits at the heart of what many deal
with these days: how do I create a happy life out of the
frustrations of my former struggles? The easy flow of the writing
gently seduced me. In reading the stories of the author and her
friends, the lens she held to their life events and insights led me
naturally to my own inner exploration. We may not know the number
of our days, but through the profound illustrations in this deeply
moving book, the author gently guides us as to how to make the best
of them.
Your wonderful book touched me at the time when I needed it the
most. It is such a good read as well as being inspirational,
uplifting, evocative and engrossing. I laughed, cried, was
transported to the places, and came to know the people you wrote
about. I can still smell the fragrance of your magnolia flowers!
I'm halfway through it again!
It got me in touch with my feminine side. More than once while
reading it, I had to take to bed with a box of Kleenex and a bottle
of Midol.
A beautifully written book; reading it is like visiting with a
friend or having a conversation with the author by an open fire on
a winter's day.

"This really is a delightful book, full of pithy, wise, fun, real, honest, short selections, each to the point and with a message one can carry away to ponder. Written by a woman who has obviously Been There, the book shares, directs, reflects wisdom and understanding at every possible turn—and quite painlessly. The writing is witty, accessible, easy and enjoyable to read, chatty or conversational, on universal subjects, what we will all encounter as we lead full lives.
